Why to visit Cellular Jail + Corbyn's Cove Beach Tour?

Light & Show at Cellular Jail:

Also known as Kalapani, Cellular Jail was built by the British in the 18th century to detain the Indian Freedom Fighters. It is a mute witness to the inhuman treatment meted out to the soldiers of the freedom struggle. The jail was constructed as a seven-wing prison and had a total of 663 cells with one prisoner in each cell. Today, the jail has just three wings others have been damaged and destroyed at various times.

A light and sound show about the anguish of the Indian Freedom Fighters is displayed to the guests, to show how the Indians were treated during the pre-independence period. The museum timings are from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM & 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (entry closes at 04:00pm) and the show timings are 05:15 PM, 06:20 PM, 07:25 PM (Timings may vary). The light and sound show is displayed in both Hindi and English. Please note that the jail is closed on Mondays.

Tickets: 30 INR per person.

Opening Timings: Open all days except Monday from 9 am to 12:30 pm & 1:30 pm to 4:45 pm.

Duration: 2 hours.

Corbyn’s Cove:

The only beach that is closest to the city. The beach is ideal for sunbathing, swimming and chilling. Activities such as Speed Boat Rides and Jet Ski are available here. The beach is open on all days and no entry tickets are required.

Opening Timings: Open 24 hours.

Duration: 2 hours.
