Gandhi Park:

  • The Dilthaman tank, the only source of drinking water for Port Blair then is now a quiet and beautiful park.
  • Did you know: The area around the park has been built as Gandhi Park in an extremely short time of 13 days and is certainly a manmade wonder.
  • This beautiful park has facilities like amusement rides, safe water sports and nature trail around the lake, garden, restaurant.
  • There is a spectacular statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the center and has a few other historical monuments- the remains of a Japanese temple and a bunker.
  • Also, the garden is full of trees, and a flower garden which gives you peacetime. Nice and clean place, calm environment, cooler in city, green patch with pond.
  • It is a good place for walking and spending your evening time. Lovely place for those with small kids, as the kids can have a lovely time around the greenery and the swings, toy train etc.. and the play area while the adults can get a well-deserved leisure time at the benches.
